Built in the year of the most piano US piano sales (about 330,000), this 54” Steinway upright is larger than the new uprights of today which top out two inches below. You may notice all the sub-section divisions of strings, three in the tenor and four in the treble, with massive bracings for the capo bar – this isn’t done any more today. Coupled with the polished metal hammer rest rail, and you have all kinds of fun that you can’t buy new. What is new, are the keytops - well installed plastic keys to provide an even playing experience. Made in the USA, of course.
